Nordlys Arabian is a family stud. The "manager" is Nette Elise Bådal, and I have a big support in my husband, Jon Roar and our 3 children Truls, Elise and Ingeborg.

We bought this farm in 2001 with the goal of creating a business. A new stable was built in 2003. Nordlys Arabian has stabling for 24 horses. There are sand paddocks, an indoor arena, and an outside exercise area, round pen, wash place and stocks for veterinary examinations.

When i was 6 years old, my grandfather started to teach me about horses. My grandfather had been professional driving with horses in the deep Norwegian forest, transporting the heavy timber with horses. I started at riding school when I was 6 years old, and got my own horse when I was 12 years old. The places I have worked has been with different specialties, I have been training trotting horses, training gallop horses, did both show jumping, dressage and cross country.

We are on an international scale a relative small operation, but here in Norway, we are more a large size farm. We train horses for show and usually show 8-10 horses around Scandinavia every year. Our expertise is show horses, but we also train horses for performance.
We are the proud owner of World res Champion Colt AS Sinans Pacha* (Ansata Sinan x Saskia RJ), who is the sire of World Champion Stallion & Multi Champion Escape Ibn Navaronne D.

His son here at our stud Crusier (AS Sinans Pacha* x Salalah), bred by Countess Penelope Lewenhaupt is 2 times Norwegian Champion and Best in show. Our “home” bred stallion Psychosiis (Magnum Psyche x Moksiis) was named Norwegian National Champion for the second time in 2009 the first time was in 2006. Also this time he had the highest score at the show! We are also very proud of the fact that he has two times been "Best in Show"!

For 2010 we are expecting 4 foals by AS Sinans Pacha*, Ajman Moniscione and Massai Ibn Marenga.

Our goal here at Nordlys Araber is to breed arabians with very good type, good confirmation and balance, and last but not least, good temperament, for us there is no difference between a good show quality and good riding quality. We run a small riding school where the horses are been ridden regularly, and take a lot of trips to the big mountains who are surrounding us, or we ride down to the beach for a swim with the horses in the beautiful Romsdalsfjord.

In the summertime, from June to September many of our Arabian horses are free in the mountains grassing. They love climbing, crossing rivers and spend the whole summer being free.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for questions or just a nice horse talk. We would love to show you our horses.

Visiting clients can be comfortably accommodated in local hotels.
